Being a Manor House Documentary Wedding Photographer

Yorkshire Documentary Wedding Photographer

Documenting the fun of Ben & Elise's wedding at The Manor House in Lindley, West Yorkshire

Ben and Elise celebrated their wedding day in Lindley at one of Yorkshire's newest and elegant wedding venue, The Manor House.

It was amazing to be one of their wedding photographers for their big day. I've photographed at The Manor House a number of times and each time the wedding is unique as they celebrate with their family and friends.

To state the full story of their wedding day as a documentary photographer I begin by gathering some scene setting photographs. Then the day began in earnest when I visited the bride as preparations was well underway. This is one of my favourite parts of the day as I start to tell the couples story.

As a documentary photographer my style also encopmpasses elements of reportage (where composition is importrant), candid (capturing photos of what's taking place) and photojournalism(I have been influenced by many european photographers who are amazing photojournalists). Implementing these skills is often required during bridal prep. From getting creative photos of the dress and jewellery to capturing the atmosphere within the room that often varies between tranquility to chaos. This time of the day can be charged with emotions. Being able to capture this is often remarked upon by brides.

After the ceremony the couple enjoy precious time with their guest which leaves me to gather precious moments as the couple are seen together for the first time as Mr & Mrs. There are many opportunities for creative portraits both in and around the Manor House and we lucky enough to go to a few locations without spending too much time away from their guests.

I’m a wedding photographer based in South Yorkshire but cover the whole pf the noprth of England; so I look forward to returning to The Manor House in Lindley for my next wedding adventure!
